The New Diary of Winston Smith

we had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.

fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.

i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

She was not sure if she could do it due to her condition. She decided to go anyway. A few months later she realised that her depression had disappeared.''

I realized as a successful Pioneer and Ministerial servant that i was dreadfully depressed. It became worse after I stopped pioneering to raise a family. I prayed and prayed and prayed...

then I abandoned my religion, left my wife, never went to another meeting and within a few months I realized my depression had disapeared!

THANKYOU JEHOVAH!

ugh!

Prayer...one of the first things i realized as I lost my faith was that prayer is nothing but talking to the ceiling.

Not one single wonderous thing has come from prayer. All that has been good and bad in my life is a direct result of my own efforts.

edit: actually. I can't think of a more stupid concept really. Prayers are never answered how you want them to be, every thing that may be considered an answer is ambiguous and sketchy. If it's a good outcome the prayer was answered if not then Jehovah had his reasons...It is as bad as the old ''god works in mysterious way'' nonsense.

right now I am on my front veranda looking at a grass fire 5 km away in the hills, hoping the wind does not pick up...between me and it is hundreds of acres of wheat ready to harvest. Not worried...

WT Elders school: Avoid black and white thinking - now look at this zebra

continuing on with my haphazard review of the recent one-day elders school..... in one of the introductory talks, the co was making the point that we can't view things merely from a black and white perspective.

many issues have "shades of gray" and we need to use discernment in such situations.. and i'm thinking "finally!

maybe he will continue on to make an actual, reasonable point!".

The reality is probably more like:

moses made up his religion after meeting the volcano, got his brother in on the new scam of the day (yet another religion) and after looking like they were praying to this made up volcano god, decided that an example needed to be made of this fellow who flouted the new rules.

better kill him and make it memorable.

But yeah... jehovahs witnesses are as christian as Islam is.

Without hijacking a thread, to me, this illustrates that the WT and JWs will go to ground and get more controlling in the years to come. They will shut up most of the public front and control the flock by the drones who will mimick the sick little instruction data they are fed.

It's beyond big brother, it's turning into ''stepford elders''...

Are They Cynically Shutting Down The Organization?

i've raised this idea before but recent events seem to support it.

changes in the watchtower may be guided by more than a need for cash flow: they may simply be liquidating/shutting it down as discreetly as possible.. of course, this doesn't mean they stop working on their upstate ny country club - but it could mean that the throrough going exposure and disproof of their beliefs on the internet, when it emerged, took many of them by surprize, as it did many of us!

after awhile, they generally gave up trying to make any sense of their doctrines - and coupled with cash flow issues - moved towards a quiet retreat.. take a look at a few things:.

If I was running a publishing corporation that makes its money (most but not all) from printing and selling books and magazines, the age of digital would make me restructure.

I would maintain a small level off tangible printed material, but no where near what i used to print, and go online as so many other periodicals have done. I would have selected adds running that pay me, and have literature printed by my subscribers at their own cost.

If i had multiple printing houses and staff, that would have to go and i would reinvest my capital from selling them off into better paying concerns and running a digital set up. get rid of thousands of hungry mouths around the world in costly accomodations and feed a few hundred that pump out my shit in little cubicles from a central location.

seeing that my subscribers are gullible and easy led, i could persuade most to stick with me...

This I think is the way the WT will go. In process they will dump the WT as a legal liability and create a new corporation. I dont think the leadership is inept and making blundering errors at all. They KNOW that the rank and file will swallow whatever they say, and ground work has been laid for a good many changes to come. Do it over time and the revolving door membership wont even realize it.

In a nutshell: A smart business will change its product to survive and i think they are smart. I think they will shrink and go to ground, but they could get all loose and lovely...but either way, they will change big time for the dollars sake.

I wouldn't think they will shut down the organization. Well, maybe the WTBTS Corporation but the jehovahs witnesses will still be there. The faithful will want to be led and a new corporation could be created that fills that need.

I think there could well be a Rutherfordish coup again, that one was accomplished on shaky legal technicalities and it forced out men who no doubt were true believers, it can happen again I am sure. Will they bargain on a big loss? Sure, and i think that will suit them just fine and dandy. They clearly do not want to grow, they went from the leader of the pack as evangelizers to the bottom of the pile by staying with outdated methods, on purpose, IMO.

I think the ultimate direction is downsize EVERYTHING including numbers. Those who will not follow the new regeme will be labelled apostates and be considered good riddance by the remaining faithfull.

The way is open for them to declare the preaching work 'done to god's satisfaction', the small number of rank and file that stay loyal will sit back and wait out the new wave of so called persecution, not realizing that the persecution is fake. Spin will eliminate even more Bethels and It wouldn't surprise me at all for even Australia to lose its. The new name corporation will declare that jehovah no longer wants the magazines printed on paper and indeed a new name is to be given them as well.

Connect every trusted head of the local congregation into a data base run from NY and have that guy print off whatever they are told to and there is no longer a need for ANY representaion other than a few special visits from one of the popes evey now and then.

Perhaps eventually there will be no Bethels anywhere and it will all come from the secure compound at Paterson via the internet and word of mouth heavies in each country that direct underlings to keep the R&F in a state of giving cash and in constant fear of more persecution. They will be kept busy by trying to be subversive to ex members, and maybe even go back to burying caches of cherished literature (what may be left) like we did in 1974.

Life will go on as per normal, they will live in society as they do now. Just with a more 'persecuted quietly and suspicious mindset'. Closed gates and no window kingdom halls like the exclusive bretheran. More control will be demanded and they will go more cultish yet.

They can do anything they like with the pawns in the game, just by invoking 'new light', 'apostasy' and 'jehovah's blessing'.

The Jehovah's Witness church does not condone or forbid circumcision.

hi guys over a week ago i started a post about the doantions the society is now asking witnesses as never before .this is the letter that was put on the notice board .i know conditional donation agreement is not a new thing .but this letter was send out of the blue ,no one asked for it and as long as i remember this arrangement it was something you have to ask bethel .notice also how a specific group of people istrargeted ,namely the elderly one with properties ,please let me have your feedback.
